A Higher revision checklist for Paper 1H and Paper 2H
Use this checklist to identify revision priorities after a practice attempt. It is not a forecast of guaranteed examination topics or a claim that each item appears in the collection.
- Number: fractions, percentages, indices, surds, standard form and accurate calculator use.
- Algebra: equations, factorisation, formula manipulation, sequences, functions and interpreting graphs.
- Geometry: angle reasoning, trigonometry, similarity, circle facts and measures. Draw and label a diagram where useful.
- Statistics and probability: choose an appropriate calculation, interpret the information and explain what the result means.
- Connected reasoning: spot when a question needs more than one method and keep enough working to follow the link between them.
Use the calculator to check execution, not replace reasoning
Revision example: A right-angled triangle has hypotenuse 13 cm and one shorter side 5 cm. Find the remaining side.
Let that side be b. Pythagoras gives b² = 13² − 5² = 169 − 25 = 144, so b = 12 cm. The diagram tells you to subtract because you are finding a shorter side. Simply adding the squares would answer a different problem. This is a teaching example, not a claimed question from the paid PDFs.

How to use an IGCSE Higher predicted paper effectively
- Plan an uninterrupted attempt: follow the cover instructions, have the permitted equipment ready and leave the solutions closed.
- Write the mathematical model: identify the quantities, draw a diagram or form an equation before using the calculator.
- Check plausibility: estimate the magnitude and include units where needed. Keep unrounded values until the last step.
- Review your method: use the solutions to find the first point where your working diverged.
- Practise the weakness: complete shorter questions on that method before attempting the second full paper.
A second paper is more valuable after you have repaired problems from the first. Keep revising the complete course alongside official past papers; a predicted practice set cannot tell you exactly what will appear in your examination.

Frequently asked questions
Is Edexcel IGCSE Maths Higher Paper 1H non-calculator?

Are solutions included with Paper 2H?
Yes. Each individual option includes its matching solutions, and the full bundle includes solutions for both papers.
Does this cover the modular Mathematics A qualification?
This collection is listed for the linear 4MA1 route. Do not assume it matches a modular course or a different specification. Confirm your entry code first.
