Which papers should you practise?

Build Foundation accuracy before chasing speed
Start with questions you nearly get right: percentage changes, fraction calculations, substitution and angles. Write each step, then identify the first point where your working differs from the solution. When finding a price after a 15% increase, use the original price and a multiplier of 1.15; do not add 15 unless the question asks for £15.
For ratio questions, find the value of one part before sharing a total. For measurements, write down the required unit before calculating. These small decisions make useful entries in an error log.
A Foundation resit revision routine
- Attempt a paper before viewing its solutions.
- Separate errors into arithmetic, choosing a method and interpreting the wording.
- Practise one method from each category with different numbers.
- Retry the original questions later without the answers beside you.
A successful second attempt tells you more than reading a correction. Keep a mixture of topics in your revision, including skills that did not appear in the last paper you attempted.
